Friends and Birmingham

La semana pasada vieron nuestros amigos a visitarnos ¡Qué ganas teníamos de verlos! Les enseñamos Birmingham, salimos de fiesta y nos los pasamos muy bien juntos. Nos hizo mucha ilusión que viniesen. Uno de los días, aprovechamos para acercarnos al pueblo de Warwick, conocido por su impresionante castillo medieval. El día acompañó y pudimos disfrutar del precioso lugar y hasta dar un paseito en una barca de remos que alquilamos. Muy recomendable su visita. Last week our friends visited us. We were looking forward to meet them! We did some sightseeing in Birmingham and we partied a little bit too. We spent a great time together. One of the days, after lunch, we took a train to Warwick, which is well-know for its medieval castle. The day was sunny and we could enjoy the visit to the village and even, we hired a rowing boat. Summer sandals

Por tierras inglesas creo que aún voy a tardar un poco en llevar sandalias, pero la verdad es que lo estoy deseando y a la mínima que empiecen a subir un poco más las temperaturas voy a dejar mis pies más al descubierto, dejar los zapatos más cerrados a un lado y calzarme unas bonitas sandalias. He fichado algunas de diferentes estilos y alturas, ya que me apetecería hacerme con algunas más planas y otras con tacón. Aquí os dejo mi selección. ¿Cuáles os gustan más?

In England I think I'll have to wait a bit to wear sandals, but the truth is that I'm looking forward to it a lot and as soon as temperatures start raising I'll bare my feet and wear beautiful sandals. I've made a selection of my favourite ones of different styles and heights, as I would like to buy a pair of heeled ones and a pair of flat ones. Which ones are your favourite?

Nude and flowers

Pensar en primavera para mí es pensar en flores, en frescura y en colores suaves; este look lo define muy bien. La blusa es de una marca inglesa que he descubierto hace muy poquito y que me gusta muchísimo, tiene prendas preciosas y muy femeninas: Mina UK. Me encanta la mezcla de estampado floral con el color nude y la tela vaporosa y el corte la hacen una prenda muy especial. ¡Que tengáis una muy buena semana!

Thinking of spring for me is thinking of flowers, freshness and light colours; this look defines it very good. The blouse is from a new English brand that I have recently discovered and I like a lot, Mina UK, it has very femenine and beautigult garments. I love the mix of floral print and nude and the sheer fabric and shape make it a very special garment. Have a nice week!

Warwick

El pasado domingo estuvimos de visita en Warwick, un pueblo histórico con un impresionante castillo a las orillas del río Avon, a unos 30 minutos en tren desde Birmingham. Encontramos billetes con Chiltern Railways por menos de 10 libras ida-vuelta por persona, así que no nos lo pensamos. La estación de Warwick está a unos 15 minutos caminando del castillo, que es la mayor atracción del pueblo. La entrada al castillo ronda las 30 libras, lo que nos pareció abusivo y preferimos ahorrárnoslo y disfrutar de la vista de éste desde el río Avon, que pasa al lado de la fortificación. Allí alquilamos una barca de remos por una hora, por 4,5 libras por persona y pasamos un rato muy divertido y romántico embobándonos con la belleza del lugar. El centro histórico del pueblo se ve en medio día, pero es realmente precioso, con muchas casas estilo Tudor que tienen mucho encanto, algunas iglesias y algún que otro cementerio por el que pasear entre lapidas, flores y árboles.

Last Sunday we visited Warwick, and historic village with an astonishing castle by the edge of  Avon river. It is 30 minutes by train from Birmingham. The bought the return tickets with Chiltern Railways for less than 10 pounds per person, so we didn't hesitate. Warwick station is within a 15-minutes walk from the castle, which is the famous attraction in the town. The tickets to the castle are around 30 pounds and we thought they were abussive and decided to enter, but ejoy its view from the river, where we hired a rowing boat. The price for the boat for 1 hour was 4,5 pounds per person, quite reasonable. We spent a fun time and romantic fascinated by the beauty of the place. The historic centre of the village can be visited in half day, but it is really beautiful, with plenty of Tudor style houses, some churchs and charming cementeries (yes, a cementery can be charming too!).

In red and Jeans

Sinceramente, no soy de levartarme con mucho tiempo para arreglarme y escoger modelito. De buena mañana suelo vestirme con looks con los que ir a gusto pero que no requieran mucho pensamiento. La camisa que llevo en las fotos es de esas prendas que ayudan a que estos looks improvisados acaben resultando ideales; fue todo un flechazo(y a muy buen precio). El aire retro que tiene con este estampado el rojo y flores y las mangas abullonadas me encanta. Ademas, queda preciosa bien abotonada hasta arriba. El look, como veris no tiene ningún secreto, es bien simple, y creo que muy femenino.Ya veis que necesita poco; unos tejanos, un poco de rojo en los labios (¡cómo anima a cualquiera!), mi nuevo mini bolsito del que pronto veréis un DIY, y mis botines favoritos esta temporada.

Honestly, I'm not in the group of girls who get up very early in the morning to choose a look and dress up. Every morning I don't think too much about what to wear, I just want to feel comfy all day long. The shirt I wear in this pictures is one of these garments that help me with improvised look, because itself is very beautiful and doesn't need a lot to create a chic look; and it was a bargain. I love the vintage air it has with this print and the shape of the sleeves. As you can see, the look has no secrets; it is very simple and I think that it isvery feminine as well.

Oxford

Con el buen tiempo, vamos a ir aprovechando nuestros últimos meses en el Reino Unido para ir haciendo más escapadas y visitar otras ciudades. La semana pasada estuvimos en la preciosa Oxford, de la que vine encantada y enamorada; la ciudad parece salida de un cuento, donde cada calle tiene su encanto. Hemos preparado un post más extenso a modo de mini-guia y con algunas de las muchas fotos bonitas que hicimos en la sección de Travelling para que podáis encantaros tanto como lo hicimos nosotros. With good weather, we want to enjoy our last months in the UK taking trips to visit other cities. Last week we went to the beautiful Oxford and I came back hone totally in love with it. The city seems part of a fairy tale, every corner is charming. Sisters' time

Como os conté, hace unas semanas vino mi hermana a pasar unos días conmigo en Birmingham. ¡Qué ganas tenía de verla y cuánto la echo de menos! Parece mentira que estando lejos de la gente que quieres, sea cuando más te das cuenta de lo que los necesitas. ¡Te quiero, petardilla! As I told you, some weeks ago my sister came to Birmingham to spent some days with me. I was looking forward to see her, I'm missing her a lot! It's incredible that we realise how much you need the people you love once you are far away from them. I love you, honey! In bloom

Birmingham ha florecido. Los parques están a rebosar de flores, árboles coloridos y gente haciendo picnic sobre la hierba. Así da gusto pasear por la ciudad. Nuestra próxima misión es comprarnos una manta para ir a tumbarnos al sol en los parques y disfrutar del día. ¡Viva la primavera y el buen rollito que aporta! 

Birmingham is in bloom. The parks are full of flowers, colourful trees and people enjoying a  picnic on the grass. It's a wonderful way to wander the city. Our next mission is to buy some sort of blanket to lie down and enjoy the sun in the parks. Hurrah, spring and the good mood it gives!
