Barcelona illustration for Grazia

I'm super excited to finally be able to show you a project I've been working on. I've created this illustration for Grazia Magazine, for the At Home City Guide series, in this case the one of my beloved city, Barcelona. Here you've got the link to the article. Hope you like it!

When it rains in Tokyo

First post from my trip to Japan, starting with a travel look to comfortably wander the city while I finish writing the travel guide of Tokyo which will be the next post. Stay tuned! So, back to what I wore, I must begin saying that it was a rainy day with some light showers and the umbrella (that we could borrow from the hotel) was the main accessory. How cool a transparent umbrella can be! You see that I (almost) gave in to a total black, just adding some colour with the accesories: the printed bag and the statement earring. And yes, my Converse sneakers, as super essencial in my trips, were a must-wear to stroll around the city all day long and stay comfortable.

Navy style in Porto

A navy look with " a twist" is what I wore during one of my days in the beautiful city of Porto. I have the classic stripes for a fun octopus embroidered jumpsuit and the sailor hat and the net bag were the cherry on top of the look. We had already been in the Portuguese capital and we loved it, so we wanted to also visit Porto and see if it was as charming as Lisbon. I have to say that we totally fell in love with it. Although the weather was a bit crazy (super sunny, suddenly hailing and then sunny again...and all day like this), we could enjoy the city a lot. We were there just for three days. There are many different plans to do: wine tastings, admiring the architecture and the tiles everywhere, eating delicious food, sailing the Douro river... Have you been in Porto? Do you like this navy style?

How to prepare your travel luggage

Not much is needed to create a good travel look comfy enough to spend all day wandering the place you are visiting and chic at the same time. The key: fill the suitcase mostly with basics and add some special garments to make a great look. Paper bag trousers are the perfect allies to this kind of outfits because, beside being so stylish, they go well with everything. I have these ones in two different colors and I've posted many looks with them, as for example here and here. The rest of the look: a basic tee, flat shoes (in this case my beloved loafers) a medium-size bag and then, the special garment, as it's this bomber with the embroidered tigers. I know, in this case, the colorful bag gives an extra touch and makes the whole look work. Besides, on my suitcase I always put a small box with special earrings and other small accessories to add the cherry on top to the outfits. How do you prepare your travel luggage?

Baker boy hats are one of the key accessories this season. They have been seen in many versions, textures and prints in stores, and I wandered Paris to finally find mine in a vintage shop. I couldn't wait to wear them and wore it the day after. We took the photos in one of the most magnificent places in Paris: Place Vendôme, with its impressive column with relieves. It does not appear on the pictures as I am in love with the perfect façades and colorful doors and wanted them to be the focus on the pictures. Undoubtedly, Paris inspires: beautiful architecture, music, art everywhere, street style...I woke up that morning, looked at the views of the city rooftops (they are incredible!) and got inspired in this red and black look. It has personality and it's chic. Don't you think? When I'm preparing my luggage I always think of a variety garments (most of them basics) that combine with each other: I never think of particular looks and I know I'll dress as I feel that day. How do you prepare your traveling luggage?

Ciao, Roma!

Last weekend I enjoyed some amazing days in Rome in really goo company, my mum, as the ones who follow me on Instagram could watch on my Stories. The weather was good so we wandered the city from one side to the other almost everyday; the perfect way to discover all these hidden corners that are found by chance when you get lost. This is the travel look for one of my getaway days. As always, comfort is a must. Accessories take an important part in the travel game: medium-size bag so I can bring all I need with me (camera included) and comfy masculine shoes that make my feet bear all the walking.

Midi skirt in Le Marais, Paris.

My last trip to Paris, which I've been posting many pics on my Instagram, was fantastic. There's nothing that's revitalizes me more than traveling. Undoubtedly, besides spending times with my pencils and brushes, it's what inspires me more. Discovering new places, or even rediscover known ones, absorb the environment, the streets, the corners, the people, the life...soak in every little detail of this place I'm visiting. It fills something inside me, fires a new light, a sensation that I can barely explain but is so intense and gives me a punch of great energy. I look at the work with little girl eyes, a explorer, where the curiosity comes out of every pore in my skin and makes me have all my senses on, paying attention to every new experience, or living already-lived experiences as new ones too. It helps me to get away of monotony, routine and personal things that sometimes make me feel down. Paris is always a good place to get beautiful feelings: its light, the architecture and all the beauty that it radiates. For one of our days in he romantic Paris I wore this amazing midi skirt, which makes flawless look on its own (at least in my opinion). A black long sleeve crop top, comfy loafers to wander the city and cool bag. ¿Do you like it? ¿What's traveling for you?

A walk around Atrani in a blue dress

Today we are going for a walk around Atrani, a little and quiet town in the Amalfi Coast very close to the crowded (but beautiful) Amalfi. Undoubtedly, these photos are one of the most beautiful ones that we have taken this summer, with regard look pics. the setting is really magical, charming and invites to dream of the Italian glamour scenes so La Dolce Vita. On the other side, the look just helped to create even a more ideal atmosphere: chic and sophisticated as well as fresh and feminine. Although this marvelous blue dress catches all the attention, the accessories also take an important part here. Yes, I've become addicted to wear just one statement earring. Why wearing two when the one one is going to be hidden under the hair? Besides...I like this way and that's it...hahaha!

Travel: 4 days in Naples

In July, we spent 4 days in Naples after our Amalfi Coast and Pompeii trip. Despite having visited Italy many other times and always going back home in love with the visited places, maybe this time, as a whole, this trip has made us even fall more in love with this country. This post is only focused in the days we spent in Naples and the short but unforgettable excursion in ferry we did to Procida. I hope my tips and recommendations help in your trip if your are planing to visit La Bella Napoli.

The Style Outlets Viladecans - travel look

Some weeks ago I was invited to The Style Outlets Viladecans in Barcelona, to discover the shopping center and enjoy a fun evening about fashion and traveling. The Style Outlets is about 15-20 minutes from Barcelona city centre and 10 minutes from the airport. There are many different ways to get to the shopping centre and there is a shuttle bus from Barcelona. There is a great variety of brands and restaurants and it offers different services so you can shop in confort. In my afternoon there, I had a fun challenge: find a look for 100 € suitable for a trip to somewhere in the world. My somewhere was Costa Rica, so I wandered the mall discovering new brands in my research for the perfect outfit. I needed something comfortable (and stylish, of course) to spend my a trip walking the jungle. I found a cool safari-style romper and vegan leather backpack at Adolfo Dominguez and a thing satin scarf to wear as belt in Parfois. What do you think about my choice? Thanks a lot to The Style Outlets for a great afternoon!

Travel look for Stockholm

Travel look for Stockholm. The Scandinavian cold arrives to the blog while we are having hot summery days in Barcelona. I know now we are not in the mood of wearing this kind of looks, but I didn't want to leave these photos from our trip to the Swedish capital in the camera roll. A typical comfy but stylish look that's perfect for traveling. In this case, a thin spring bomber jacket is the main garment. I wore it with warm clothes underneath, and even a coat on top (that I took off to take the pics). Although we visited the city in Easter, it was freezing cold so layers and layers of clothes were needed to spend the day wandering this beautiful city. Anyway, despite the cold and that we had to get in cafes and shops frequently to warm up, we enjoyed the trip like kids. Stockholm is such an amazing place to visit. I'll soon share with you some travel tips, because it is very interesting and there are many things to do.

Traveling to Milano

Viaje a Milán.

Leather skirt and soft tones

Sophistication and style are not incompatible with cold weather, we just have to know how to adapt them to winter temperatures. Today's look is another one I wore during our Milano getaway. The white fur coat was again my best friend for the cold weather, but this time in a chic way with a very feminine result. I think in this look each of the elements is important: the mix of soft tones in contrast with the bold black, where the fluffy coat, the mustard top and the pale pink mittens are essential; the earrings and earcuff give the final extra touch of chic deluxe that I love. Loving the earrings? On Happiness Boutique website my readers will get 10% discount for orders over 19 euros using the code emerjadesign and it is valid until February 12th.

Red knit jumper and white furry coat

A red knit jumper and a white furry coat were part of the outfit I wore in our first day in Milano. The ones who follow me on my social networks know that last week I spent some days visiting the Italian city. It was pretty cold so jumpers were essential in my luggage and, as always, comfy travel looks that are a must for me. We really enjoyed the getaway as we needed a time for ourselves to relax and visit the city calmly, as well as having great meals of pizza, pasta and tiramisu. Italian food is delicious!

Bomber and mom jeans for autumn

You are gonna call me the mom jeans crazy girl. I have posted many looks with them, and that's because I find always a good reason to wear them, no matter how and when. This time is a look from my summer trip to USA, concretely from our days in the city of San Francisco when the days were a bit cold and needed to wear jacket, in this case my beautiful printed bomber jacket. We loved San Francisco and the walked a lot. We went from one part of the city to the opposite almost all by foot. This is the perfect way to discover a city, although by the end of the day you can't barely move, lol. I was waiting for cooler weather to post this look, because we were still having almost summer time in Barcelona, but it seems cold has finally arrived so you'll see warmer looks from now on. What's the weather like in your cities? Are you already using your coats? I've used mine today for the first time!

¿No creéis?

New York SoHo - street style

I'm back with a travel look, just a few more to finish my summer trip outfits. With this one, I go back to the impressive New York city. I bought almost the entire look (top and skirt) there. There were sales in many shops so I couldn't resist. Going shopping is almost a must plan. I think I've already told you that the SoHo is my favourite district in New York: brick buildings with metallic stairs all over the façades, cobblestoned streets, designer boutiques and lots of cool bars and restaurants. Our hotel this time was located there, so we could enjoy a lot the atmosphere of the zone.

High Line New York - Knit dress

The High Line in New York is one of my favorite places in the city. This amazing urban garden built on an elevated section of disused section of a railroad, is peaceful and energy at the same time, full of art, inspiration and great views. Its length is about 2 km and is on the west part of Manhattan Island. In our walk there we took the pictures of my look the day: a comfy knit dress in a polo-shirt style and my comfy masculine shoes. Perfect travel look! There are still many pictures from my summer trip that I want to show you. I know autumn is already here, although in Barcelona it's still hot, so I'll be combination my summer post with some recent looks. Are you enjoying my summer pictures?

Travel look - Lost somewhere on Earth

A gas station in the middle of nowhere with two abandoned trucks was the place we choose to capture the travel look of the day. We stopped there by change, in the journey between Los Angeles and Kingman, when we were starving after many kilometers without any trace of humanity but the road. A twin set of printed shorts and top was my comfy outfit for a long road trip day. Do you like the pictures? You may have seen that this adventure took us to many different places, being able to do very contracted shootings, all of them with a particular charm that we, undoubtedly, had to immortalize. I hope you are having a great week!
